Little Girl In a Big, Big World | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

While I love capturing our daily lives, there's always that part of me that loves making beautiful portraits as well. These late summer sunsets (not to mention the heat!) make getting out for portraits tough, especially for Little Sis who is usually in bed by the time the sun sets. I still try to take Big Sis out a few times for some portraits, and hopefully this time next year, Little Sis will be able to join us.

Making a Splash - Part 3 | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

Last up in the underwater camera reviews is the GoPro Hero 5 Black with the Telesin Dome Port. This is my new favorite summer setup. The new GoPro shoots RAW and is waterproof without a housing up to a certain depth..perfect for a pool. (Of course there are accessories if you want to go deeper) This setup offers the perfect combination of quality, convenience, and gear security. I do miss the bokeh I can get using my DSLR in an underwater bag, but I don't miss the stress. If you plan to do underwater photography often or live near a beach, a real underwater housing is the way to go, but for me, in landlocked Oklahoma, the GoPro is a perfect fit.

Making a Splash - Part 2 | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

Continuing my underwater photography adventures, I purchased a Victure Action Camera. The underwater bag still makes me a bit nervous and it's a bit bulky, so I figured I'd give a knock off GoPro a shot. It was a great deal and it's a pretty good little camera. It let me get some great pool captures of my girls stress free!

Several months ago, I asked Big Sis if she would ever want her own camera. "No." Well okay then...... Flash forward to 2 weeks ago and suddenly she tells me she wishes she had her own camera. Make up your mind, child! But after I got over the humor of it, I was secretly excited. I bought her a FujiFilm Instax camera for her recital gift and she got to take it for a test run on our recent trip to Dallas.

Baby Ballerina | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

Our first year of ballet has come to a close. It started off rocky, but over the year, it grew on her, and playing backstage at rehearsal and those shiny stage lights may have sealed the deal. We will be returning to ballet again next year!

Making a Splash - Part 1 | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

It's roasty toasty here in Oklahoma, so any chance we get, we head to the pool. I couldn't miss out on these memories, so I recently purchased an underwater bag for my camera. I can't wait until the girls go deeper and we can have even more fun.

Bunhead Sisters | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

Big Sis is nearing the end of her first year of ballet. It's not her favorite, but it's growing on her. Little Sis, on the other hand, is mildly obsessed with being a "nina" or ballerina and insisted on having her hair done in a bun and putting on Big Sis's old leotard and tights. Then they killed some time before we had to leave by having a little photo session with each other.

I love sparkly things. Who doesn't? I was inspired by part of Bert Stern's The Last Sitting with Marilyn Monroe. We dug out all of my sparkly jewelry and had some fun.

Cookie Time | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

We love our baking time. Today we made chocolate chip cookies; they're not her favorite, in fact, she doesn't even like chocolate chip cookies, but she loves to bake and that's what we had as far as ingredients.

Ball Pit Bubble Bath | Edmond, OK Photographer | Mine

My nemesis...the ball pit. No, this is not the actual ball pit, and therein lies the problem. The balls never seem to stay IN the ball pit. I was actually quite pleased to see that instead of throwing them around the living room, they had decided to transfer them into the laundry basket. Until this... If you can't beat em, join em!
